Tue erected the stone over his wife's grave

Store Rygbjergstenen stands at Frederikshåb northwest of Egtved. The runestone, which dates back to the 10th century, was found in 1874. The inscription has been called Denmark's first love poem.

The stone stands on a small burial mound and bears the inscription: „Bryden Tue erected this stone over Thorgunn his physician. These staves will live long“. In Danish, this means that Tue raised the stone over his wife's grave.

The stone was once split but is now back in its original place.
