Translated, the inscription reads:
“Thus the inscription contains an inscription within itself. Who is depicted there? The eldest of the gods, Vefrødr. He brewed ale in honour of his beloved father. Kolfinn placedredthere, runes of joy and runes of eternity. Any man who stiffens with frost is covered in hoarfrost. Tyr Tyr Tyr. Out out out. Immediately, he who is hard to drive away departs like a tomsing.”
Tove and Hans Sørensen, who in 1987 helped to find the stone on their field just north of the Kongeåen, will recount the event.
